Home / How Sunset Valley Organics Grows Differently

Blueberries are rich in vitamin C and contain calcium, iron, potassium, and other important minerals, and are a good source of dietary fiber.

Sunset Valley Organics is a relatively small family farm, so we can pay attention to detail. We make our own special compost that is considered one of the best composts in the Willamette Valley. This is the cornerstone of our fertilization program.

We also use excellent foliar and soil biological inoculums, some purchased, some homemade. These inoculums help microbes solubilize minerals in the soil so that the blueberry plant can assimilate the needed minerals to make nutritious organic blueberries.

The assortment of organic products and minerals that we use feed the soil and the soil will in turn feed the plant. Sunset Valley Organics recognizes the importance of the relationship of our plants to the soil.

"We treat our soil like it's living and alive. And we don't put poisons on it. And I also do the same for myself. I try to eat very nutritious vegetables and fruits. And since then, I feel I've become healthier and so has my blueberry farm."
